Take this drug by mouth, with or without food, as advised by your doctor for obstructive sleep apnea, generally once daily in the morning. Unless your doctor advises you to stop, keep using your existing treatments (such as a CPAP machine or a mouth device).

The dose is determined by your medical condition and treatment response. To receive the best benefit from this drug, take it on a daily basis.
You may get withdrawal symptoms if you suddenly stop using this drug (such as shaking, sweating, chills, nausea, vomiting, confusion). To avoid withdrawal, your doctor may gradually reduce your dose. If you’ve been using modafinil for a long period or in large quantities, you’re more likely to have withdrawal symptoms.
